A New School Year

Well, an new school year has begun and as expected it has been crazy.  There are a number of initiatives in our district that are all occurring at once and a number of them specifically tie to technology.  My rock star staff has been busy at work creating images and getting the computers ready to go for the teachers, staff and students.

Life in the technology department here has involved....

• upgrading all machines to Office 2010
• the mounting of all projectors in the classroom
• an upgrade of the wireless system to include access for students
• a movement of all telephones to voice over ip
• an attempt to upgrade to Windows 7 (have had to back track to Windows XP due to issues we can't resolve in a timely manner)
• the setting up of a print server
• the reorganization of our department so we can be more productive individually and as a team
• re-imaging 1100 machines so they are ready for the new school year
• and more..
